Courtesy Care

Hospice of Green Country provides end-of-life care to all individuals, regardless of their ability to pay, through our Courtesy Care Program. Courtesy Care includes an interdisciplinary team approach with skilled nursing, personal care, psychosocial, spiritual, bereavement, and volunteer services, plus contracted physical, speech, and occupational therapy and nutritional counseling.

The desired outcome of hospice services is improved quality of life for the patient and family. The financial burden of a life-limiting illness is a significant stressor for both the patient and the family. Hospice of Green Country’s Courtesy Care Program allows patients with no means of paying for costly end-of-life care to receive the full array of hospice services. No differentiation in care and services provided is made between those served through our Courtesy Care Program and those with Medicare or private insurance.

Those who are eligible for the Courtesy Care Program have no means of paying for hospice care. They are either uninsured or on Medicaid (there is no hospice Medicaid benefit in Oklahoma). These individuals have a progressive terminal illness with a life expectancy of months rather than years and reside within the agency’s service area.
